Hello, and thank you for stopping by! Here’s a little bit about how Powerhorse Therapeutic Massage evolved. I’ve been riding and caring for horses since I was a young child. Horses, dogs, and many other animals have always been an essential part of my life. I have worked in corporate finance, accounting, education, and when my kids were in school, I built a pet services company that provided pet care to hundreds of clients with the help of 25 wonderful employees. When my family moved to Virginia, I sold the business to my very first clients. It was very difficult to say goodbye to all my animal friends and their owners, but the company continues to thrive in Sykesville, Maryland. J Walking Pet Services serves a wonderful community of pet lovers while providing rewarding jobs to a dedicated team of caring employees.
George
When I arrived in Loudoun County Virginia, I immersed myself in taking horseback riding lessons and volunteering at Loudoun Therapeutic Riding. Having previously been a hunter/jumper competitor, I began learning the art of dressage on a talented Dutch Warmblood named George. However, there was still an empty spot in my heart for helping and healing animals. This led me to become a student of Mary Schrieber, Founder of Equissage International, where I became a certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist and Canine Massage Therapist. Witnessing the amazing impact of my massages on George, my therapeutic equine friends, my ailing rescue dogs, and even a distressed lamb named Jett, encouraged me to form Powerhorse Therapeutic Massage LLC. PTM’s mission is to improve the health, strength, longevity and performance of our equine athletes and animal companions. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your animal and how I can help!
